Nowadays skyscrapers are a key element of urban life. People in megacities spend most their time in buildings while living and working in high-rise buildings. The main challenge in high-rise buildings is space.
It’s becoming more challenging for elevators to handle the traffic flow of passengers in high-rise buildings.
Elevators need to occupy less space and transfer more people within less time. That is the main task for elevators, which is hard to implement given the daily increasing demands of urban life.
Standard arrangement (left drawing) / New arrangement (right drawing)
“Kledelmans” has developed a new elevator car arrangement. The car area increases minimum 30% up to 60% without changing shaft dimensions. This new design can be used for new elevator installations as well as for modernization projects. It expands the available car area in group elevators, resulting in time and cost benefits with regard to heavy traffic flows in residential and commercial buildings. The building area will be saved.
Drawing 2
As in this example, in a standard arrangement of elevators, the high-rise building has six elevators with 1000 kg capacity. The new arrangement gives a solution with four elevators with 1600 kg capacity without changing current shaft dimensions. The result is that; the building area is saved by the nearly 40 square meters on each floor; imagining that the building has fifty floors then it will make an approximately 2000 square meters saved in one skyscraper. With the new solution, the capacity of elevators are increased without changing shaft dimensions and also maintaining traffic flow of passengers in the best time manner.
The new arrangement of elevators by Kledelmans is the ideal solution for high rise buildings where every square meter of area is essential as well as for building owners and residents.
Kledelmans is the sole holder of the patented new solution in the world. Patent number: WO 2024/223070. Patent document: click here
